QueryProxy is a self-hosted database access control and query approval portal, released as open source under the AGPL-3.0 license.
It exists because of a tension every engineering team knows: developers need production data to do their jobs, and handing out production credentials is how incidents happen. QueryProxy resolves that tension with a workflow instead of a password — developers submit SQL through a guarded editor, DBAs approve or reject from the web or straight from Slack and Teams, and approved queries run asynchronously with results that come back limited, masked and fully audited.
It is built for small and mid-sized engineering teams, DevOps engineers and DBAs
who want the control of a database gateway without the operational weight of one:
a single Laravel application, a zero-config docker compose up, and no external
services required.
